The Nursing School

Last Tuesday, the commissioner of state education department already sends memo to the entire school district in America especially the nursing schools in regards to the epidemic about swine flu virus. The memo provides information about some preventive measures in order to evade this swine flu from affecting the learners. Memo that been sent to the nursing and medical schools in the country contains some special information about swine flu virus and request of support of this health care learners to be part in controlling the developing of swine flu and even support the society to be more alert, and cautious about hygienic aspect in order to avoid any illnesses especially this contagious swine flu virus. This memo were already posted to the all school district in the country with certain or specific steps that can be done or undertake about this epidemic.

Commissioner Ken James together with the Health Department worked on for the drafting this memo in order to provide information to the public about this contagious diseases flu and the precaution that must be taken. In the memo, schools encourages their learners even school staff members or administrators to send them home if ever they got a flu like symptoms and got a fever that is over 100 degrees already. Aside of that, those individuals who got a respiratory illness just to stay home and most importantly it stated in the memo to avoid close contact to those individuals or someone who are coughing or even sneezing. Furthermore, it encourages everyone to do several hand washing. As of now, the different health care institutes that include the nursing schools and medical educational learning institutes join in the campaign about the preventive measure in order to avoid swine flu virus such as posting or hugging posters that contains about frequent hand washing, some hygienic activities, and how to wash the hands in a correct manner.

In the different hospitals in the country, the hospital administration provide several career training to their nursing staffs, doctors, and hospital staffs or personnel’s about swine flu virus and how to take care patients who got this virus and as well on how to take care of themselves in order to evade this virus especially if they are taking care patients who got the swine flu virus. Different preventive measures and hygienic activities are provided in order to ensure that the entire health care institutes or hospitals are already prepared in combating these swine flu viruses. This preparation that been taken are not to create any panics but as well to prepare everyone especially in the healthcare system to be more vigilant and be cautious in protecting their health and as well to the entire society.

The Texas nursing field is in a fix rate. Since, the statewide of shortage nurses already moved beyond the industry standards that several years that passed according to the veteran University of Texas School of Nursing Dean who is Patricia Starck. The scenario of nursing profession are quite a challenge nowadays because its very much in need especially for the next years to come where in a lot of individuals will be going to their old age and for that its quite understandable that these individuals needs health care system or nurses in order to support their health condition. But as we can see, nursing career jobs for teaching are quite challenge. In which, there are only few nursing individuals who are opted or incline to teach because of the low salary offer that they have receive. In that case, the hospital administrator are already allowing their nurses to take some time away from their current job and do some teaching in the different nursing schools in the country. It means that the hospital administrators are already allowing some of their nurses to take part time job of being a nursing teacher in order to ease up the nursing teacher shortage.

Although, there are several individuals who take up nursing courses in the different nursing schools in the country but still some of the nursing individuals are losing their way or eventually out from their nursing profession. The coalition of nursing educators and even Texas hospital representatives are searching for a total of $75 million from its Legislature in order to go through the next years and double this number nursing graduates by this coming 2013 from 6500 to 13000. These believe that those dollars would be entirely spent from both economic and even health care views. Addressing this nursing shortage would entirely bring large economic benefits and at the same time ease up the health care situation in the different health care intuitions or hospitals. Based on the study in the Dallas Federal Reserved Bank, the Texas Medical Center already created$6 billion annual estimated expenses in order to cater the needs of hiring new nursing teachers in the different nursing educational learning institutes so that there will be several teachers who can cater the vast needs of nursing students and even incline more individuals to forego a nursing career.

Its been statistically estimated that about 1 million people or more will settle in their home for the next ten years to come due to old age especially that every years more and more individuals are getting older and reaching at the age of 65. With that statistical estimation, it’s very clear that the health care personnel are very much in needed especially the nurses and technological things in order to deal the health care needs of that time. Aside of that, its also projected that ten years to come is a shortage for registered nurses for about 6,000 of it. Its really a challenge for the State of Virginia to raise several more nurses profession in their society in order to deal the need of their state for the next ten years to come especially that nurses performs a very important function in the health care system. Several studies have indicated that hospitals that got well educated and well trained nurses got fewer concerns on their fields or occurrence of medication errors. As a result, patients stay for fewer days and lessening the cost of health expenditures.

With that, it’s very much important to remind and encourage the different nursing schools in the country especially in the Northern Virginia to educate and well trained their nursing students in order to be fully equip in doing their profession or assigned tasks in the different hospitals or health care institution and as well don’t need several nursing educational training especially now that some hospital in Northern Virginia are using their own resources and even sometimes connect with the local or state governments in order to trained further their hired registered nurses for career development in their job functions. Not only that, there are several hospitals that got some vacancy in their nursing staffs due to retirement and they can’t find some qualified nursing applicants to fill up the job positions. Since, most of the nurses that been applying are lacking some educational training of their field or profession as one important core member in the healthcare team.

With that, several hospitals in the United States especially in the state of Northern Virginia are collaborating with the different nursing school administration in order to ear out their concern about the nursing qualities that they are looking upon hiring newly nursing staffs in their health care institutions especially for the different hospitals.

Most of these nursing learners who are foregoing online setting are those who can’t afford to it as fulltime nursing student in campus setting due to financial or schedule restriction. But these nursing online learners chosen to study these professions in order to support the nursing system in the country and be oriented fully about nursing career. In the school setting, aside of gaining quality educational concept; learners are quite trained in order to face real life scenario about nursing education with the support of simulation lab, computer system and animated dummy.
