Course Description:

Depending upon a particular school’s nursing program, and the student’s prior nursing academic preparation, RN to Baccalaureate programs are aimed to develop nurses’ perspective towards their profession by introducing them into other phases of nursing care: economic and social, political and cultural issues affecting the health care industry, particularly, nurses.

Progression from RN to BSN programs has proliferated in recent years, in fact, internet courses are offered based on this curriculum. The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accredits graduate courses passing its standards; the baccalaureate program prepares nursing students to meet the parameters of the graduate course through its more in-depth approach to nursing education, compared to the APN program.

A teaching career might interest some nurses, or a doctoral program may elicit the same degree of yearning for the ultimate level in nursing education. Either way, RN to Master’s Degree program paves the way for nurses to either teach or opt for doctoral work.

A registered nurse can jumpstart his teaching profession by going into clinical instruction or teach subjects in entry-level programs such as the APN. A nurse educator who desires to take on faculty work in universities/colleges must meet all the parameters of doctoral work, as well as achieve accreditation to teach in other fields of health-care specialization.
